Water Tanks and Springs
Since obtaining the first of our grazing leases in 1990, we have worked to build perimeter fences where these did not previously exist, and to repair those which had fallen into decay since their construction many years ago. These efforts are discussed in greater detail in the page on Fencing, but it's important to bear in mind that any measures to disperse (and to protect) water sources must be complemented by efforts to control access to them. Left to themselves, cows will tend to congregate around water, and therefore to trample the vicinity, so water tanks and fencing tend to go together. In our discussions of our work, we will be continuously making links to indicate this interdependence.
